All property surveys begin with research into legal descriptions about the land they’ll be surveying and its history. Then, the surveyor will actually go out to the property and sketch out the land, its boundaries, and different elements that make up your property. This is called the fieldwork.

A) Chain Surveying:-
The principle of chain surveying is triangulation. This means that the area to survey is spilled into a number of small triangles which should be well-conditioned. In chain surveying, the side of the triangles are measured directly from the field by chain or tape, and no angular measurements are used.
Types Of Chains Used in Surveying Are :-
I) Metric chains.
II) Steel band or Band chain.
III) Gunter’s chain or surveyor’s chain.
IV) Engineer’s chain.
V) Revenue chain.

B) Digital Surveying :-
The objective of the course is to provide basics of digital surveying and mapping of earth surface using total station, GPS and mapping software. Finally, the course will deals with working and demonstration of a digital land surveying and mapping of an area.
